The complete remanufacturing program not only requires engineering, but equipment such as machinery, assembly fixtures and test platforms. Because every project is unique, the associated machinery and test equipment is usually custom made.

For quality assurance, remanufactured electronic and electromechanical units may require an elaborate custom test platform to accurately measure the desired operational parameters of the remanufactured unit. Custom built test platform are not readily available and must be designed and assembled by a competent electronics engineer.
